The Grassroots head office and factory is situated in Gouda – an agricultural region in the heart of the Ceres valley in the Western Cape, South Africa.
The production facility is over 11,000 m2 and we employ more than 300 people, of which 90% of the labour force is female. We pride ourselves in operating world-class facilities, which comply with operational and ethical standards.
Our certification
Our snacks processing facility is currently BRC certified, SEDEX registered and the Grassroots Group is registered as a food business operator in South Africa.
Our products and facility are also approved by Starbucks and numerous leading European retailers as well as the FDA.
The facility and all ingredients are declared allergen free and is Halaal and Kosher certified.
The Phyto Medicinal plant is GMP certified.
We are also registered as a PPECB (Perishable Product Export Control Board) loading/shipping site operate according to the World Class Manufacturing Principles.
